No Coincidence

Last month, I shared the story of two Muslim brothers from a village not far from where God has called us to serve, and the amazing dreams God gave to Osman about Jesus the Savior.

Osman excitedly called his brother Omar to tell him of the dreams, but when Omar answered the phone he had some news of his own to tell. He had befriended a Jewish man and had become intrigued by the Sabbath. Omar was convinced that Osman’s dreams were from God, so they decided to study the Bible to search for more answers about Jesus. There they also discovered more about the Sabbath.

They began to search the Internet for other followers of Jesus who kept the biblical Sabbath, and they found a Seventh-day Adventist blog from a faraway continent. Then they made the contact that eventually brought an Adventist pastor and my father from a neighboring country to Omar’s door.

After a drive of several hours, my father and the pastor were welcomed into Omar’s home where they found that his whole family had been carefully reading the Bible together, praying, and joyfully following Jesus. They wanted to honor God by obeying the Ten Commandments, so they had been keeping the Sabbath. Somehow they had the mistaken impression that the Sabbath was made for the Jews, but my father brought them back to the story of creation, and they were delighted to discover from the Bible that the Sabbath was for all mankind.

Dreams, providence, the Bible and people from five different countries were involved in bringing this Muslim family to the truth in Jesus. God has already called us to the same area where this Balkan family lives. It’s no coincidence. Will you be part of the team that sends us there?
