“I was so low that I even thought about hanging myself to end it all.”

Last year when I was taking guitar lessons from Tin at his music school, he told me that his girlfriend, whom he deeply loved, had just left him for someone else. Though he was heartbroken, he started a new relationship not long afterwards. I was concerned for him, but I didn’t know what to say. Aside from our guitar lessons, Tin was also meeting with me once a week to study English. Unfortunately, due to his busy schedule, he had to stop. We didn’t see each other again for over a year.

When I next called Tin, he was eager to begin studying English with me again, so we made an appointment for the following week. As we reconnected during our first meeting, he told me that his new girlfriend had also left him for someone else. He told me that both of his girlfriends left him because they wanted someone who could speak English. He went through an extremely difficult time and even contemplated suicide. But now he is doing much better and is highly motivated to learn English. I am very thankful that he didn’t take his life.

Please pray that, as I continue to meet with Tin, I will have wisdom to know how to share the love of Jesus with Him. I believe that his heart is open to God’s Spirit. I want Him to know the God who will never leave him or forsake him.

May the Lord open our eyes to the needs of those around us who feel alone and abandoned, and may we have wisdom to know how to reveal His unfailing love to them.
