The Blessing of Donor Ministry

Fundraising. As we were thinking about accepting a call with Adventist Frontier Missions, it was the one thing we were not looking forward to. But we soon learned that the better term for it is “donor ministry,” and with the change in terminology came a change in our hearts. We quickly discovered that caring for people and inviting them to join with us in doing God’s work was a joy rather than a drag.

The last four months have flown by, filled with speaking appointments, home visits and lots of prayer. Through it all, we have watched God move on the hearts of His faithful children in ways and at times we did not expect. Today we are still waiting to hear from some who have promised to send in pledges, but we are learning to lean more fully on the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and the gold in every mine.

As I write, we are less than three weeks from beginning AFM’s summer training, and we are deep into a long list of assignments we need to complete before we begin. We know that God will give us the strength and wisdom to get it all done. Thanks to the blessing of donor ministry, we know that we have a host of people praying us through every task.

A big thank-you to all who are holding up AFM missionaries in prayer. It is much-appreciated and needed. We pray for you as well.

Praying for all of you, and for each one of you!  God loves a cheerful giver, and AFM missionaries are such a great example of cheerful giving!  They don’t just give a few dollars.  They give their lives—their living—their full-time selves—cheerfully.  Wow!
