We encountered Lanalina through her Facebook post. She bemoaned her fatigue and the difficulty of taking care of two children alone as her hemoglobin levels continued to sink below normal. After some private messaging, we went to clean her apartment and care for her children while she took a nap. A wonderful friendship began to develop, and she asked that we pray for her to find a job in the small town where her husband lives, as she wants to relocate there with her children. She also asked that we pray for her health.
One day, we received the following message: “I am looking forward to seeing you. Also, I want to let you know I got the job with the company that interviewed me. I thank Jesus that we prayed together. I thank Jesus for opening doors to other opportunities in the place we are moving to.” We read her message with joy overflowing in our hearts.
“And my last report from the doctor shows that my hemoglobin is now normal. I want us to meet again before we leave. You are precious to me because you like to talk about Jesus, and I miss that. When I was a child, I slipped away to find a church. My family did not know. When I entered the church, I heard a song that went, ‘My God is so great.’ Many years passed before I would walk with the Lord again. When I relocated to Nuuk years later, I walked through the doors of a church, the one near your house, and I heard the same song. I broke down in tears. Everyone around me wondered what was wrong with me, but I knew that God was calling me back to Himself.”
Lanalina invited us to lunch at a restaurant.
“I want to tell you about a dream I recently had. In my dream, I heard a loud voice. And the voice gave me three messages.
1. Repent
2. Be prepared
3. Jesus is coming
“Your dream sounds like a portion written in the Bible. A loud voice. Three messages.” We shared Revelation 14:6 onward.
She quickly opened her Bible on her phone.
“I never knew this. When I had that dream, I asked God what book to read, and every time I went to the book of Proverbs, He kept bringing me back to the Ten Commandments. I wondered why. Then He said it was because we broke the law that Jesus died. Now, I want to obey the Ten Commandments. I know how important the Ten Commandments are. I am now reading 1 Corinthians.”
It was so refreshing to listen to Lanalina, uninterrupted by the noise of several others in the restaurant.
“We can continue to study together. We are also studying 1 and 2 Corinthians.” We referenced the Sabbath school lesson quarterly in our minds but did not want to overwhelm her with details.
“And now my Mom is beginning to study the Bible. This makes me so happy. I hope to study with her when I get to my new town,” Lanalina continued.
It is wonderful how the Lord spoke to Lanalina, giving her three messages in a loud voice, telling her the importance of the Ten Commandments and that Jesus is coming soon.
A week later, we did the final round of cleaning her apartment. She showed us a book she would love for her husband to read. She longs for him to love and obey Jesus. “I wish more Greenlanders would know the dangers of the spirit world and shamanism,” she reiterated.
Lanalina and her children are now settling in with her husband in the new town. We are all grateful for how God is leading her. We join her in earnestly seeking the Lord for her husband, Chritto, to have an encounter with Jesus and be set free from addictions. Would you please join in praying? She is a light that God has sent to shine on a hilltop.
May her family be a beacon on the hilltop with the Loud Voice and Three Messages, announcing the soon return of the Dream Giver.
