The first time Charles visited our church, he came dressed in his motorcycle taxi uniform. After that, he began attending regularly, and we started to learn his story. Little by little, he told us about his problems at home. His wife was demon-possessed and made his life difficult. You could see the fatigue and stress in his face and how he moved and talked. The church prayed for him and for his wife who also came to church.
Charles came to talk with me one day and told me about his family and his journey from animism to Islam to Christianity. He had prayed that God would show him the way to truth and life, and God led him on a long journey through several churches. At each church, the pastors had prayed for his wife’s deliverance from her demons, but still she suffered.
Charles and I prayed together and broke all his past demonic connections by the blood of Jesus Christ. Charles prayed for forgiveness for the things he had done in the past that were against God and then recommitted himself to God.
After our prayer, the stress was gone from Charles’ face, replaced with peaceful joy. He had been freed and God was glorified. The next day, I saw him at a general meeting, and he still looked at peace, even though his wife’s problems weren’t resolved yet. (Stay tuned to see what God will do on that front.)
