We are always overjoyed to see how many of you want to give, in addition to prayers, encouraging notes and monetary support. In 2018, because of the generosity of our teammates in the States, our luggage bulged with gifts for children in Cambodia and Papua New Guinea. Thank you so much!
My mother-in-law was a huge supporter of AFM’s missions, but she wanted to do even more. So, over about seven weeks, she made 212 dresses of varying sizes and colors and dozens of crocheted hats. We had so much fun distributing these items to some of the poorest people in the world. Wide-eyed children (and adults) caressed the never-worn gifts. As we told them that our mom had spent many hours making these items, their eyes shone with gratitude.
Panama City SDA Church held a VBS last summer, and the children raised money for missions. When we visited there, we were astonished to see the assortment of reading glasses, hats with brims, dolls, crayons, colored pencils and Christian coloring books they had purchased.
It was so much fun to pass out the dolls and watch the children hug their new toys. We gave some of the coloring books and crayons to a small group of believers on the Pnong Project. The children loved them. We gave the rest of the supplies to the Pnong Project’s K-6 primary school. What a blessing! We plan to distribute the reading glasses, the remainder of the dresses and the large-brimmed hats to people in PNG during our annual visit later this year. Thank you Mom and brothers and sisters at the Panama City SDA Church for sharing your love! The best part is that when we give these gifts we also have an opportunity to pray with the people, share Bible truths through GLOW tracts in the local trade language and just love the people to Jesus.
Thank you all for each part you play on this team. As we all work together as a body of believers to reach the unreached of the world, I pray that the harvest will be overflowing in heaven.
