Image for Home

Golden afternoon rays highlighted the hills as we left the coastal plains of Bangkok and approached home. Coming home has a completely new meaning when you have been away for a long time. Home means security, familiarity and comfort. You no longer have to struggle to find food or figure out where to find a bathroom or catch a bus. Muak Lek, Thailand, is currently our home. We are beginning to feel comfortable here. We have figured out how to do banking and have found a pharmacy. We have discovered an evening market where we can purchase fresh fruit and vegetables. We have learned to count in Thai. We have a long way to go in learning the language, but the people here are friendly and tolerant of our attempts to communicate. Soon we will form friendships, and our ability to converse will grow.

Do you feel at home? Do you find living as a Christian a struggle? God would love to have you come home to Him. When you are home with Him, communication with heaven is no longer a struggle, because heaven’s language is universal. You never need to worry about where your next meal will come from, for He has promised to provide.

Years ago, God created a perfect home called Eden, but Adam and Eve failed to recognize its value and traded it for selfish gratification. Most of humanity still doesn’t recognize the value of an eternal home with God, a special place where we don’t have to struggle to survive, where we are not constantly assailed by sin. We have the privilege of accepting this gift, of living in harmony with God, of allowing Him to give us daily peace, hope and joy. We also have the responsibility of sharing this incredible news so others can also find peace, hope and joy. Indeed, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Rom. 10:15). Increase your beauty! Be part of the team to bring this Good News to the whole world so we can all go home.
