Have you ever been part of an answer to prayer? Most of the time, we don’t know when something we do or say becomes a specific part of God’s plan in someone’s life. Occasionally, it later becomes clear to us that we had the privilege of being part of something amazing. Much more rare and precious is when we recognize God’s invitation to become co-laborers with Him, allowing Him to use us in His great plan of salvation. What could be more satisfying?
He might choose to send us somewhere, maybe to a people group that hasn’t had the opportunity to know Him. He might choose to make us into prayer warriors who are sensitive to His impressions, sometimes praying methodically through a list, other times dropping everything to urgently pray for someone we may have never even met because we sense that a life depends on it. Sometimes He might call us to be the lifeblood of missions; to become a sender.
“For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” (Rom. 10:13-15).
We know a young couple that needs a miracle. God has called Viktor and Sara Basha to reach out to Balkan Muslims with almost no access to the Gospel. In His divine foreknowledge, He has been preparing them from childhood to understand the language, the worldview, and the Balkan people’s hearts. Since they both spent years of their childhoods in a country with people of the same ethnicity, they won’t need the years it usually takes cross-cultural missionaries to learn the language and become accepted as insiders in the nation they have been called to.
In these amazing providences, I sense God’s urgency to reach this people group quickly with His gift of salvation. This is where the miracle needs to happen: If Viktor and Sara don’t have 60 percent of their support raised by next month, they won’t be able to attend this summer’s AFM training session, and their launch to the field will be delayed by one year.
Do you recognize God’s invitation to become part of a miracle that will bring the good news to the Muslims of the Balkans? Please respond now with a gift to the Balkan Project and send Viktor and Sara Basha to the mission field!
