Cambodians are notorious for balancing amazing loads on their motorcycles. Many times I have watched as they added items to the towering pile, each one looking like it will topple the whole thing. Then I gaze in awe as the driver confidently motors away as if he doesn’t have a 15-foot stack of cargo on the seat behind him. Amazing!
The Lord brought a spiritual lesson to my mind one day as I watched a massively overladen motorbike drive by. He seemed to be telling me that even when we have a large load on our backs or an overwhelming list of things to do, we can have peace as we move forward in His strength, relying on Him.
Many of our days in the mission field are filled with heavy issues—attacks on missionaries, concerns for their health and families—as Satan prowls between our projects like a roaring lion. Also, our hearts are pulled back to America with family concerns far away. Some days it seems like our plates are filled with more than we can stomach. However, when we give it to the Lord, we find ourselves able to move forward confidently because He is carrying it for us. Isn’t our Lord amazing to use our daily balancing acts to remind us to rely on Him?
Do you feel overloaded? Are your days filled with too many tasks, and your heart weighed down with concern for others? Just think of an overloaded motorbike in Cambodia and give it all to God. He is able to carry your burdens.
Thank you for your prayers and your love for the unreached and for us. Thank you for giving so generously. What a blessing you are! Stay faithful. Jesus is coming very soon.
