This month, we are excited to present our sixth annual AFM Kids Special Edition. (Hint: flip this magazine upside down and start from the back!)
Missionary kids don’t write many articles and aren’t often in the spotlight, but their contributions cannot be overlooked. At every stage of their lives, missionary kids have a huge impact on AFM’s ministry to the unreached.
Even in the womb, missionary children are already exerting their influence. Pregnancy often brings expectant missionary mothers into deeper closeness with other ladies and cements relationships.
As newborns, missionary kids are powerful magnets for the endearing attention of friends and neighbors. Even total strangers cannot resist their gravitational pull.
As toddlers and young children, missionary kids begin to form their own friendships and connections in the community. Local people who might treat their missionary parents with suspicion can hardly resist their charms as they play with their children. Missionary kids are loveable little battering rams that destroy walls of prejudice.
As missionary children grow up, the power of their life testimony increases. People are constantly observing how their parents raise them, how they interact, and what life choices they make. Missionary kids are living demonstrations of the gospel their parents preach.
Finally, as missionary kids reach adulthood, new ministry possibilities open before them. With their unique language skills, cultural insights, and lifelong burden for unreached people, they have unrivaled potential to carry on the family business and help complete Christ’s gospel commission.
Missionary kids of all ages, we salute you, and we praise God for you!
