As any AFM missionary can tell you, the mission field is a place where you encounter health crises on a daily basis. A little boy stops growing and gaining weight (p. 28). A girl has a life-threatening attack of appendicitis (p. 36). A man faces the battle of his life against cancer (p. 45). And these aren’t other people’s problems; they are the emergencies our missionaries are facing with their own health!
As this new year begins, perhaps you have been thinking about making some resolutions—small things you can do that will make a big difference. If so, I have a suggestion for you: Pray for our missionaries! Their daily divine appointments, the success of their ministry, even their very lives depend on the power you wield from your knees.
May I make a bold prediction about your future? Someday in eternity when you are reviewing the records of your life history on earth, I predict that you will be utterly astounded at the massive salvos of divine power your heartfelt prayers unleashed. You will see then, as you cannot see now, how many dangers you averted, how many hearts the Spirit moved, how many calamities God transformed into glory because you chose to partner with Him and take hold of His promises in prayer.
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it” (John 14:13, 14).
