Picture the awesome scene as you are escorted into the throne room of heaven — brilliant light so dazzling that it almost blinds you. You gaze upon thousands and thousands of angelic beings. Amidst the overwhelming beauty, your eyes lift up toward the One enthroned upon the mercy seat.
Seraphim proclaim with melodic voices, “Holy! Holy! Holy! is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory”. (Isaiah 6:3) The foundations reverberate with the sound as the room fills with smoke. You are overwhelmed by the beauty of holiness contrasted with an honest assessment of your own life.
Dropping to your knees, you plead for mercy. In response to your heartfelt petition, an angel touches you and assures you that your prayer is heard. Your iniquity is pardoned; your sin is purged. You have the assurance that you have been forgiven, healed and cleansed. With the assurance comes freedom, peace and joy.
Now the Lord Himself pleads for assistance. Jesus asks: “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8).
After all that He has done for you – giving you life, purchasing your redemption through His death on the cross, giving you a new life – what will your response be? Will you respond like the prophet, “Here am I; send me”?
Surely you want to go. As an act of gratitude for His mercy and grace, you will respond to the voice of Jesus calling you. If you are a young adult having graduated from high school or college, or still in college and willing to take a year off, or maybe even looking for a new opportunity to express your joy in Christ, we invite you to consider giving a year in service among the unreached people of the world.
You love Him because He first loved you. May your choices reflect your appreciation for the sacrifice of Jesus. If not you, then who? If not now, then when?
Please contact us so we can help you as you respond to the voice of Jesus urging you to go. 800.937.4236 or recruiter@afmonline.org.
