Rejoice with me! Rejoice with me! Several times in the Bible we are invited to share the joy when a lost sheep is found, a hidden coin is uncovered, and most importantly, when a wandering child returns to the family. Take a minute to recall joyous times in your life—a graduation, a birth, or witnessing someone giving their life to Jesus and being transformed by His love.
AFM invites you to rejoice with us! Recently, several of our former student missionaries have responded to the call of God and returned to serve as long-term missionaries among new, unreached people groups around the world. We trust that you will be reading about them in Adventist Frontiers soon, but I want to express our joy for these returned missionaries.
Also, we rejoice for those of you who are reading this magazine who regularly fulfill the prayer request that Jesus asked of His disciples: “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matt. 9:37, 38 NKJV). Your prayers are being answered!
Finally, we rejoice for those of you who are perusing this magazine and asking God to confirm His calling in your life. You may have already served as a student missionary with AFM or with another organization, perhaps on a Micronesian island or perhaps at an Adventist institution somewhere else in the world. Now you hear the Holy Spirit whispering to your heart and soul afresh. It is time to go and serve again, sharing the everlasting gospel with a people group that has never had an opportunity to learn of the merciful Savior, Jesus Christ.
There is joy in heaven in the presence of God and the holy angels over one soul redeemed. Imagine their joy—and yours—as you introduce an entire culture to the wonderful truth of the Bible and the plan of salvation! We would love to work with you to bring this incredibly good news to these dear people. Rejoice! Rejoice! God is calling you.
