For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news . . .” (Rom. 10:13-15).
The Bible makes it clear that God gives people different gifts. Although I realize that not everyone is called to be a frontier missionary, I believe more are called to go and serve than are responding. Too many have bought into the Babylonian fallacy of the distinction between the priest and the laity. Throughout history, God has used common people to share His message and advance His kingdom. Consider:
Jonah was fish food; Andrew, Peter, James and John were fishermen; and Jesus served fish. William Carey was a shoemaker; Dwight Moody was a shoe salesman; and Billy Graham has lovely feet. Arnold Hooker was a furniture maker; Tim Holbrook was a mechanic; and you are a ______.
It may be that your particular skill set is exactly what is needed to open up new work in a closed country. Friends, there are millions of people waiting—dying—to hear the good news of Jesus for the first time. You can go and share with them. Look away from yourself. Look to Jesus.
We invite you to join the priesthood of missionaries. God is calling people from the plow, the desk, the dairy, the computer, the hammer, the hospital and the classroom to go and take the everlasting gospel to the mission frontiers. He has promised: “To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand” (Rom. 15:21).
You will go and share the gospel as we help send you. The unreached will hear as you use your talents and skills to share with them. Please contact us so more can hear, believe, call upon the name of the Lord and be saved.
