Kent & Leonda George

Career Missionaries since 1995, serving the Palawano people of the Philippines.

Pastor Kent and Leonda George have been serving as missionaries in the Philippines since 1995. Kent, a graduate of Pacific Union College and Andrews University Seminary, pastored in Georgia Cumberland Conference of Seventh-day Adventists before joining Adventist Frontier Missions as a church planter. Leonda, also a graduate of Pacific Union College has worked side by side with her husband establishing indigenous churches mostly in the interior of southern Palawan.

Kent has a passion for mission aviation and is skilled in construction and mechanics. Kent is a great story-teller and through his example has influenced and helped to develop many indigenous preachers. Leonda, with a passion for medical ministry and education and has been instrumental in opening 4 elementary schools and a secondary school, as well as a remote clinic. She and her team continue to train indigenous health workers and teachers. She has collaborated with her daughter Gielyn George in translating a number of books for use in school, as well as a book of hymns and choruses for use in their churches.

Kent and Leonda are the proud parents of 7 children/foster children and have 10 grandchildren that bring them great joy.

He Is Able

Just before we left on furlough, I mentioned to our staff in Kemantian that they should expect some major spiritual challenges in our absence, as has often been the case during past furloughs.

Wonderful Family

When I was growing up, I prayed a prayer that I thought nobody heard. My sister Bubit had been praying the same prayer, too. Our prayer was to have a family.
