Elizabeth Kurath

AFM – Europe, Short-term missionary for 2024-2025, serving the Hill Tribes of Ratanakiri in Cambodia.

My name is Elizabeth. I was born on the Fiji Islands and raised in Switzerland. In my early childhood, my mother planted the seed of faith in my heart. As I got older, I still had faith in God, but He wasn’t my priority. I lived according to my own selfish rules and in compromises to the word of God.

Through my half-brother, my interest in God’s word got stronger. The silent testimony of his faithful, unselfish, godly life had such a great impact on me that I got inspired to read the Bible. I became acquainted with the precious truths of God. Jesus set me free from the bondage of my wrong thinking and harmful addictions. A year later, in 2021, I decided to get baptized and share my newfound hope and joy in Christ with others.

After working as a flight attendant and teacher, I felt called to do something more meaningful. The desire to step out in faith and go wherever God leads me got stronger. God has burdened my heart to proclaim the everlasting gospel “to every nation and tribe and language and people” (Revelations 14:6). Unfortunately, there are still thousands of unreached people groups worldwide — unreached people who have never heard of Jesus Christ and have no access to the gospel.

By the grace of God, I have been voted to serve as a missionary among one of those unreached groups, the Hill Tribes of Ratanakiri in Cambodia. It is truly a privilege to have the opportunity to serve there as a teacher and work with a team to catalyze church-planting movements. My goal is to allow God to use me for His glory, to be a light and bring joy by representing Christ in this place. Any donations or prayers you can provide to help me fulfill this mission would mean a lot to me!

I pray that we all allow the Lord to use us to further His kingdom. There is no other work of such great importance than proclaiming the everlasting gospel, not just by words but especially by our deeds of holiness.

“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

May God bless us with His love and a sense of responsibility for the lost like never before.
Maranatha!
