Isaiah 65:24 declares God’s readiness to answer prayers before they are even uttered. Recently, a friend affirmed this truth, exclaiming, “God is so keen to have you go to Greenland up to 101 percent!” Their words deeply resonated as we reflected on our morning devotional reading: “Praying is not overcoming God’s reluctance but rather a laying hold of God’s willingness” (Martin Luther).
With unwavering determination, we prepared for calls, trusting in God’s provision despite challenges. During a follow-up call with our supervisor, we received astonishing news — we had reached 101 percent of our launching goal — the precise number in our friend’s affirmation. God had already moved on someone’s heart, surpassing our expectations. This experience reaffirmed that God is more eager for our mission than we can imagine. It is a reminder that He is faithful to provide, even before we ask. We rejoice in the network of supporters who pray, give and go, propelling God’s kingdom forward.
By faith, we know that we will be in training in Berrien Springs, Michigan, this September. We have now raised over 50 percent of the monthly goal and know that He has already moved on people’s hearts and minds to be a part of our support team. In reviewing the ontology of the word provision1, we come across words like foresight, prudence, and care, all of which give deeper meaning to His determination that none should perish without receiving a chance to know Jesus (2 Peter 3:9). We praise Him for His pro-vision (provided beforehand to aid the vision) as we continue to knock on the doors, send emails, and speak at churches to lay hold of the willingness He has placed in the hearts of His stewards for the sake of those in Greenland.
In moments of difficulty, we urge you to trust in God’s determination to see you through. Amen.
