Have you ever wished that life would slow down? As we wind down one ministry and begin the task of taking up another, it sometimes seems that there is far more to do in any given day than can be accomplished. And yet we have the assurance that God will not give us more than we can bear. Trying to wrap our minds around the incredible responsibilities we will take up with AFM seems daunting, and yet service is what God’s work is all about.
As we transition to working with AFM, we find ourselves praying more and more not only for the missionaries we have been sponsoring over the years but for each of the frontier missionaries and the projects they are seeking to develop for Jesus. There is so much work to be done and so little time to do it. We feel a growing burden for more missionaries to spread the gospel to the unreached people of the world.
Our primary field will be Southeast Asia. We know that we have an enemy who has kept hundreds of millions of people in these countries locked in superstition, worshiping a plethora of gods of wood and stone who neither see nor hear nor answer petitions. What the people are looking for seems beyond their reach. And yet what they seek is the very truth that AFM missionaries go bring them. We pray that our missionaries will demonstrate the love of Jesus so clearly that the unreached will see a compelling picture of Him.
Even as we plan toward launching in the fall of 2017, we realize that will only happen through the grace of Jesus working in the lives of people here at home.
