Last Sabbath, I had the joy of seeing the baptism of two of my young friends, Augustin and Donny. These two have been in and out of my house for years. As a little four-year-old, Augustin would come to me to get his leg sores cleaned and dressed. He is now 17 and still suffers from sores, but now he knows how to treat them himself. Over the past five years he has spent almost as much time in my house as in his own. He asks lots of questions, and we talk about all kinds of things as I cook or wash dishes.
Donny is also 17 years old. I have known him since he was about eight when he and his mother began coming to church. From 2008 to 2010, he and his brother lived with me while their family was going through hard times. My house is still their second home. They often drop by for visits and meals. Donny frequently comes to me for advice and counsel. He is growing up to be a responsible young man. His father is not in the picture, so he and his brother do all the farming to grow food for their family. Both of these young men have had to make hard decisions whether to attend school on Sabbath or not.
When Augustin and Donny get together, they keep up a constant comedy and keep us all laughing. Please pray for these young men as they continue to grow in grace. —Suzy Baldwin
