And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple” (1 Pet. 2:5 NLT).
Lumbering along under the weight of 12 smiling children piled in the bed, the little beige Nissan pickup truck slowly pulled into the sandy driveway in front of the learning center. As it stopped, the kids tumbled out excitedly, notebooks and pens in hand, shy but curious about the farang (white foreigner) teachers.
“Good morning, Uncle. I haven’t met you before. Which village are you from?” I respectfully greeted the older gentleman who got out of the driver’s seat.
“We’re from a village about four or five kilometers from here. We heard about your program, so I brought the kids here.”
There are so many children and families in our part of Thailand who are looking for something. Parents want to give their children the things they didn’t get as a child—a chance for a better life, hope for a brighter future. By faith, we can see that God is working through us to raise up a body of believers, a living, breathing temple for Him to dwell in.
