“But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art Mine” (Isa. 43:1).
God called me through His Word in a special way one day. Sonya and I had been praying for God’s guidance. We were asking Him if I should go to nursing school to receive more medical missionary training. Now the answer came! I was cleaning rooms for future guests at the vacation place where I worked. As I worked I listened to the book of Exodus. As God spoke to Moses in the burning bush, He spoke to me that day, warming my heart with His love and changing the course of my life. When God called Moses to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, He gave him a special sign. He would know that God had sent him when he would return with the delivered Israelites and worship God there on Mount Sinai (Ex. 3:12).
God told me that I would know He was calling me to nursing school when I received the training and used it for His service. Being called as a missionary is a fulfillment of that sign for me!
God is calling you, too. Let us all join the Spirit and the bride in extending the invitation to those who have not heard (Rev. 22:17).
“Who hath saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began” (2 Tim. 1:9).
