Cambodia Bound

Good news! We finally got our son River’s passport after more than a three-month wait. We have now mailed in our visa applications and hope to be returning to Cambodia in about two weeks. By the time you read this, we should be happily resettled in the village. This has been a faith-building journey to be stranded away from our mission field. We don’t know why God allowed us to be away for so long, but we trust that He knows best, and His timing is best. It was hard not having any timeline or knowing anything about the future. We just had to wait and trust God to work out the details.

Our time in the States has allowed us to study how to reach Muslims more effectively and how to better engage in spiritual conversations, and to spend time really digging into God’s Word. We have been freshly reminded of how imminent Jesus’ coming is, and it is motivating. We have done lots of thinking about how we want to focus our efforts when we return to Cambodia, and we have many ideas and plans for our project.

We are immensely thankful for your faithful support and prayers throughout these trials that we have all been facing. It means a lot to us that you have reached out to encourage and pray for us. Please pray for our project as we strategize how best to reach the Great River People for God’s Kingdom.

If you are moved to support our project, we invite you to give to our housing fund so we can build our permanent home among the Great River People. This is our greatest need right now, and we hope to start building by the end of 2020.
