Coworkers with God

“When are your guys arriving? We are excited to spend time with you,” said Keren Lawrence on the phone.

David and I were on our way to meet our co-workers Keren and Orion Lawrence and some donors in Kentucky. Rain was pouring as we drove down the highway. “We will be there sometime this evening,” I told Keren. “We are driving very carefully. A number of cars have slid off the road in the rain.”

The rain had stopped by the time we arrived at the home of Keren’s parents, and Keren and I went to their garden to gather some tomatoes. David and Orion toured the property, looking at their animals. That night we stayed up late talking about our plans when we launch to the Ama in Papua New Guinea (PNG). I told Keren that one of my goals is to plant a garden and possibly some fruit trees. Ama women and children tend to be malnourished, so I would like to help them with food.

The next day, as the four of us hiked on a nearby mountain, I thought about how we would soon be hiking through PNG jungles to visit families’ homes. Our goal is to help the Ama people in their hunger to learn more about the word of God. As Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Please pray that the Lord will give David and me and Orion and Keren wisdom to accomplish this mission.
