When Dikee was in elementary school, she had a whole notebook filled with poems she had written. One of her teachers read some of her poems and praised her for her talent. The teacher also noticed something else about Dikee’s writing. “Why are all your poems so sad? You should write about happy things.”
Unfortunately, at that time in her life, Dikee’s heart was filled with sadness and pain. And so she filled her notebook up with all that sadness.
Dikee is not sad anymore. She knows how much Jesus loves her, and it has filled her life with happiness. She loves God so much, and she has begun to express her feelings for Him through poetry. She recently wrote the following poem for God entitled Sometimes.
Sometimes I forget to praise You; When You do wonderful things.
Sometimes I’m hopelessly afraid; When I don’t think about You.
Jesus, You always live in my heart, But sometimes, I take You out.
You are so precious to us. We live in You, and You live in us.
Sometimes we forget to remember You. In our lives, storms come, we cry, we beg for help.
We forget to remember You because You are already there before we cry.
Sometimes I beat You with my sins.; Sometimes, I make You cry when I disobey You.
We should tattoo Your name on our hearts.
