The Diploma of Fundamental Studies (DEF) is considered Mali’s most important national examination. Many French-speaking West African nations recognize it as a key certification for students who have completed the foundational stage of their education. The DEF generally corresponds to junior high or middle school, and attaining this milestone signifies the successful completion of nine years of basic education. The DEF serves as a determinant of eligibility for progression to secondary education or vocational training.

About two weeks ago, a group of young Muslim girls approached me warmly and sincerely. They kindly asked me to pray for them, believing it could help them succeed in their exams. This gesture did not necessarily indicate a shift in their beliefs toward Christianity. Culturally, they may have simply been seeking a sense of connection. Psychologically, their actions may have been motivated by a need for hope or reassurance during difficult times.
When the exam results were announced, the girls learned they had all passed and eagerly sought me out to express their gratitude. I advised them not to thank me, but God. The proper way to show gratitude to God is to attend church, share one’s testimony, and dedicate one’s life to Jesus Christ. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Roukia, one of the young girls, shared in her testimony how the Christian belief that God answers prayers gives her hope. She mentioned how it is difficult for Muslims to have their prayers answered and shared her desire to become a Christian, but also voiced her concern regarding her parents’ reactions. Roukia and others agreed that marrying a Christian man might be a safe way for her to convert and live according to her faith.

Please pray that others like Roukia will hear and recognize the Man in White calling them, inviting them into the sheepfold.
