Divine appointments. Oh, how they refresh the sojourn when the view gets blurry through walks along life’s path. As we are blessed to have traveled widely and lived on several continents, we find it is not often that friends of long ago once again find each other. Sometimes, the friendships we make become but sweet memories, and we never get to see the smiles again. Still, we hold onto the hope of reuniting, if not here on earth, then in that celestial city.
I met him when I was a freshman at Central Michigan University. He became my pastor and friend. A young student away from my home country, their home became a warm abode for me. I remember the delicious meals and the wonderful conversations. Many years have passed since Beryl and I met them, but divine appointments are always on time.
A few weeks ago, we found one another again through the Adventist Frontiers magazine. He and his lovely wife read about our call to Greenland. How timely! A recent Zoom call granted us the opportunity to hear one another’s voices once again, see each other’s smiles, and share our journeys through these digital blessings. This wonderful couple has become one of our monthly supporters and is divinely positioned for us to learn from them; growth spurts never end. They are also missionaries and serve an indigenous community with demographics similar to the Inuits of Greenland. Our hearts are so filled with joy for the lessons they have already shared with us as we prepare to launch into Greenland. Divine appointments: they come with life lessons. Thank you for your prayers and support as we look forward to launching into Greenland.
