“Look at me!” I said to James as I slowly pulled him up from the bloodstained sidewalk.
We had been driving a little red scooter along a narrow pathway to get to the main road. It was dark, and I could see the dew sparkle as we approached a curve. Suddenly the scooter slid out from under us.
I thanked the Lord all the way to the hospital. I thanked Him for hundreds of people daily praying for us, and for no broken bones. The seven stitches and cracked rib are small reminders that we are dependent on God for breath, healing, relationships and protection. We were even able to witness to the hospital staff.
Though the future may be marked with tribulations and unseen slippery patches, we joyfully embrace it and praise God. We claim His promise in Matthew 6. He will provide! Already, He has provided us with friends to take us to the hospital, with people to witness to, with protection from major injuries, with prayer warriors and with bodies that heal. “First seek the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” We continue our journey with God as His children, and we look to Him as we prepare for the next phase.
