For Such a Time As This

“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings” (Acts 17:26).

This is one of my favorite Bible verses because it speaks to me of an infinite God who is personally involved in the individual lives of His children. Many people float through life wondering if their lives matter; if where they are going has any direction. Yet this verse tells us that God has a “where” and “when” for each of us.

This resonates with me because my Sinim grandparents emigrated to America. It wasn’t good fortune that allowed them to escape war into the arms of a Christian country. It was God who navigated them through the tumultuous situation to bless them and further His gospel. It is difficult to share Jesus with Sinim people within the borders of their country, so God brought Sinim people to this free country so we could reach them in a way we wouldn’t be able to if we had never left. But it doesn’t end there. The Spirit of Prophecy tells us, “Great benefits would come to the cause of God in the regions beyond if faithful effort were put forth in behalf of the foreigners in the cities of our homeland. Among these men and women are some who, upon accepting the truth, could soon be fitted to labor for their own people in this country and in other countries” (RH, October 29, 1914). I am going back to help fulfill prophecy, and you can be a part of it.

We could have been alive to witness the Red Sea open. We could have been among the 5,000 Jesus fed, or watched 3,000 people get baptized at Pentecost. But instead, God in His wisdom ordained that you and I live in North America and witness the events of the 21st century. He placed you and me here for such a time as this, to bring Him glory and spread the three angels’ messages worldwide. Won’t you join me in fulfilling prophecy?
