When my mom and dad got an e-mail from Mr. White last year saying that he had been impressed that a family named Erickson would be coming to help them, it gave me comfort to know that God wants us in Papua New Guinea. To me, that means that He will protect us and bless our work there.

On a recent trip to New York State to visit some relatives, my family and I were driving on a highway through Canada. I was doing my homeschool work when I looked up trying to figure out the answer to one of my math problems. As I raised my eyes, I noticed the blinker on a semi truck in front of us blinking. I thought, “Oh no! That truck is moving into our lane! We’re going to have an accident!” The driver must not have seen us, because he kept coming closer, and we had no place to go except onto the narrow shoulder. As the truck swung over into our lane, Daddy steered the car close to the highway wall. The truck seemed to be going faster and faster as our car drove slower and slower. Finally, the truck got past us, and we all breathed a sigh of relief. Thanks to God, we arrived safely at our destination.

This reminds me of Psalm 34:7: “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”
God wants us to be able to tell the Gogodala about Him so they can have a chance to know Him.
