Gethsemane

Last night, I felt compelled to read the Desire of Ages chapter entitled “Gethsemane.” As I was reading, these words about Christ struck me:

“It was not yet too late. He might wipe the bloody sweat from His brow, and leave man to perish in his iniquity. . . . But now the history of the human race comes up before the world’s Redeemer. . . . He sees the helplessness of man. He sees the power of sin. . . . and His decision is made. He will save man at any cost to Himself” (p. 692, 693).

What amazing love God has for fallen man. Imagine! Christ thought of me when He was in Gethsemane. He thought of all the Northern Khmer souls who are lost. He made His decision because of His love for us. And because of His love for us, our decision is made. Northern Khmer people are waiting to hear, and we are going to tell them.

Lord, please help us love the Northern Khmer people as You love them. Help us love them as You love us. Thank You for loving us, for saving us, for calling us and for equipping us. Thank You, Lord, for all the people You have called to be part of our team. As we go to serve the Northern Khmer people, please help us follow Your example and sacrifice for them at any cost to ourselves because of our love for You.
