Apparently God wants us to get to Benin as soon as possible! In addition to blessing us with a small but amazing church in Wyoming that stepped up to provide 10 percent of our financial goals, He recently gave me an amazing experience that made His call even clearer.

This summer, I flew to Minnesota from Norway to attend a wedding. I also wanted to visit the AFM office, but we were short on money, so renting a car was not an option. I prayed and left it in the Lord’s hands. At the wedding, one of the groomsmen asked if I wanted to go to Michigan. He said he would even be able to bring me back to Minnesota so I could catch my flight!

I was able to ride over to Michigan with a very friendly family whom I found out were good friends with John Baxter, AFM’s Human Resources Director. They drove me to the new AFM property where I met several staff members and the new student missionaries.

The next day, one thing after another fell into place, making it clear that God had worked everything out. I received needed counsel and advice and materials for telling people here in Norway about AFM and our project. Boxes of magazines with our introduction story had just arrived at the AFM office, so I took some copies and had more copies sent ahead to a company I would visit in Minnesota.

At the company office, I talked with the owner. After I told him what we are doing, he said: “So, you probably want some money from me, don’t you? Well, I can’t give you any now, but I will give you some in the next few months.” Praise God!

When I went to pick up the magazines, I learned they had not yet arrived. Miraculously, we were able to call the driver of the FedEx truck they were on, and I was able to meet her at a junction out in the country on my way to the airport and take delivery. And I still made my flight in plenty of time. God is so good to us! We are preparing to depart for Benin as soon as our fundraising is complete.
