God Wants to Take You Places

“Go one mile until you pass a farm with a barn on the left and a house on the right. Turn left on the unmarked gravel road just past the barn. Go one mile to a 90-degree turn. Follow it to the left. Our house is a couple of hundred feet to the right.” I chuckled as I hastily jotted down the directions the lady was giving me over the phone. It reminded me of the kind of directions we would give people coming out to our farm in New Zealand. Molly and I were visiting this veteran missionary family to learn more about their time in Cambodia and to share about our project. “If you get lost,” she added, “Ask someone with a windmill. They will be able to help you find our place.”

We are currently following many directions like that as we trek around the countryside raising support to reach the Cham people of Cambodia. We praise God for the way His people are stepping forward to support the project with their finances and prayers.

Working for God, I am finding out, is much like our adventures in support-raising. It’s a journey of faith! And God often leads us down roads we have never traveled before. Occasionally, these roads don’t have signposts or street names. All we hear is God saying, “Go forward. You will know when to turn when you get there.” Would you like to embark on an adventure like that with God, too? Would you like to have God so close that you sense Him guiding you around every curve? You can! How? Get involved in what God is involved in—reaching unreached people. If you can’t go in person, go through your prayers and financial support. God wants to take you places, and He will if you will let Him!
