“On Mother’s Day?! Why do you want to have it then?” That was a question we heard repeatedly as we told people when we planned to have our moving sale. I realized that it wasn’t an ideal day, but it was the last opportunity we had to sell our belongings before going to mission training for the summer.
The Thursday before our sale, one of our cars still needed to be sold. I bought a for-sale sign and put it in the window, then I parked the car near the end of the driveway. Saturday night, the car sold. It seemed that God was reassuring me that there was nothing to worry about. He could sell our car and make our moving sale a success, too.
The next morning, people were lined up waiting for us to open the doors. Only about an hour into the sale, the majority of our furniture was gone. I was amazed to see a steady flow of traffic all day. Yes, it was Mother’s Day, and there was intermittent rain, but God blessed and provided buyers. As I was vacuuming my bedroom that afternoon, I started to cry, not because I had just parted with most of my life’s belongings, but because I felt an overwhelming sense of God’s love as I saw His hand in yet another detail of my life. He is so awesome! We are on a journey of faith. We believe that God called us to work with the Gogodala, and He will take care of the details to get us there.
Will you commit to being a monthly supporter and allow God to take you on a faith journey, too? Do you believe that, when you dedicate a portion of your finances to help the unreached hear the gospel, He will return a financial blessing to you? Why don’t you test Him today? He is faithful!
