It was 2004, and we were feeling overwhelmed by the mountainous obstacles that stood before us as we prepared to launch to Albania. God had made it clear He wanted us there, but we had to sell our home, and we needed funding.
The challenge in selling our home was that we lived in the boonies off a dead-end road, and we couldn’t afford a realtor’s commission. How would we advertise? We decided to pray and trust God to work it out.
It wasn’t long after we got up from our knees that someone knocked on our door. As Sean looked out the window on his way to the door, he saw a car with a New York license plate. The woman at our door got right to the point. “This might be a strange question, but would you be willing to sell your home?”
Is any obstacle too big for God? He went on to flatten our funding obstacle, too.
During this furlough, we have kept in touch with our group in Albania, including Eddi, who was baptized just before we left. These baby Christians understandably feel vulnerable without us and are praying for our return. We need pledges for support before we can return to them, but we trust that God will move this mountain for His Albanian children.
