“Pana Mahali Pazuri”
1 Pana mahali pazuri mno,
Twapaona kwa mbali sasa;
Baba yetu angoja pale,
Amepanga makao yetu. [Refrain]
2 Tutaimba pale kwa moyo
Nyimbo tamu za wenye heri.
Na rohoni hatutaona
Tena haja ya kupumzika. [Refrain]
3 Kwa Baba yetu mkarimu
Tutatoa shukrani sana,
Kwa kipaji cha pendo lake
Na baraka anazotupa. [Refrain]
Refrain:
Kitambo tu bado,
Tutakutana ng‘ambo pale.
Kitambo tu bado,
Tutakutana ng‘ambo pale.
Above are the words to a beautiful familiar hymn that many of us know. Most of you, though, will not recognize them since they are written in Kiswahili. I learned to sing it in “Swahili” as a child.
This hymn speaks of the beauty of heaven, about God, and about meeting Him and others there on that beautiful shore.
“In the Sweet By and By”
1 There’s a land that is fairer than day,
And by faith we can see it afar,
For the Father waits over the way
To prepare us a dwelling place there. [Refrain]
2 We shall sing on that beautiful shore
The melodious songs of the blest;
And our spirits shall sorrow no more-
Not a sigh for the blessing of rest. [Refrain]
3 To our bountiful Father above
We will offer our tribute of praise
For the glorious gift of His love
And the blessings that hallow our days. [Refrain]
Refrain:
In the sweet by and by,
We shall meet on that beautiful shore;
In the sweet by and by,
We shall meet on that beautiful shore.
Translated into many languages to be sung by God’s people around the world, this hymn stirs hope in many hearts.
Think how exciting it will be in heaven when we hear praises sung to God in every language of our world. This will only happen if we all do our part in showing God’s love to those around us and across the planet.
You can help us make this possible by choosing to become a missionary, praying for missionaries, or financially supporting the work of missions through AFM.
I hope and pray to meet all of you on that beautiful shore and that we will all continue to do everything we can to make it possible for many more to join us there.
