God is so good! Each week, Joel and I go to the village of Pelima 25 miles away for a group Bible study, and we often see evidence of God’s watch care.
One morning before taking off for Pelima, I checked my gas tank, and there seemed to be enough for the trip. However, as I turned off the main road toward Pelima, my motorcycle started to sputter. As I switched to the reserve tank, I prayed God would help me. As it turned out, God made my fuel stretch all the way there and back to the gas station, where my motorcycle sputtered to a stop.
Another time, on the way to a meeting, my back tire suddenly went flat. Thankfully, I am used to hitting patches of sand, which has the same effect as a flat rear tire. Praise God, this happened right in front of a guy who patches tires.
Last week, my tire went flat about a mile and a half from Pelima. Joel and I dismounted and walked beside the motorcycle using the engine to help it along. In Pelima, we got the tire patched. We were heading home after the meeting when the engine choked and stopped. I figured it was the spark plug. We pushed the motorcycle until we found someone with a wrench, and I cleaned the plug. The engine started, and off we went. Not far from my house, the tire started going flat again. There was still enough air in it to take me home, so Joel walked.
Today, when I finally had time to fix the flat, I saw how God had worked. There was a nail in the tire, but God had kept it from going fully flat for 25 miles until we got home. Praise the Lord!
