Hey, I Know Jesus, Too

“I kind of want to get my nails done,” I said.

“Yes, me, too!” responded my new friend Angela from South Carolina. “Let’s do it tomorrow when we go to Columbia for my meeting.”

I started researching places to go near the restaurant where she was supposed to have her meeting. All the places close by had abysmal reviews.

“Well, I would rather have quality than convenience,” I said. “There is a place 16 minutes away with excellent reviews. Let’s go there.” We called and made our appointments.

We showed up at our destination and got comfortable in our seats. Naturally, I started chatting with the young lady who was doing my nails. As we asked each other questions, I mentioned that I was from California and was in the area to speak at different churches. I found out she was a content creator on TikTok.

“I make a few videos on YouTube,” I said.

“What’s your channel?” she asked. “I will subscribe.”

“Well, now remember, I’m speaking at churches, so I’m talking a lot about Jesus,” I responded.

“Hey, I know Jesus, too,” she replied with a smile. “It’s okay. We all need that, right?” she said and laughed.

That opened up the conversation to share our testimonies of how Jesus Christ has worked in our lives. I sat with her for an hour and a half, talking about Jesus while she did my nails. We were praising Jesus for the things He had done in our lives. We also agreed that this was a divine appointment only God could make with two women from opposite sides of the country.

Although it was a gloomy day outside, we had Christ’s love shining in our hearts. She confessed that she didn’t have her life all sorted and straight but she knew Jesus loved her and she would get there one day. I encouraged her. None of us have it all together, but the closer we draw to Jesus, the more we trust Him, and the easier it is to surrender our lives to Him, the easier it is to die to self and see what living really is.

Before I left, we held each other’s hands across the table, and I prayed and thanked God for this time together and that she would know and experience Jesus’ love and let Him have His way with her life. As I walked out, I noticed other ladies smiling at us as they witnessed our time together.

I pray that you, too, would let Jesus use you in all your ways, even if that is sitting in a salon and talking about Jesus while getting your nails done. Please consider joining our monthly sponsor team so we can go and share the love of Jesus and the promise of His salvation with the people of Croatia.
