““Did you reserve a site for us to camp?“” I asked Don as we drove west in anticipation of a weekend representing AFM at British Columbia’‘s camp meeting at Camp Hope.

““No, you better do that when you call to confirm the reservation for the booth,“” he replied.

When I called Camp Hope, I was told there were only a few campsites left. The first one up on the hill at the entrance was still available. In my mind’s eye, I pictured that hill I had seen on previous visits. That first campsite was so close to all the entering and exiting traffic. Tents were crowded in between motor homes. I envisioned sleepless nights as neighbors chatted scant feet away and cars drove in and out. But for some reason I responded, “Yes, we will take that one.” The location would likely allow us to meet more people. This would be our first time representing AFM, and we wanted to do so as effectively as possible.

When we reached Camp Hope and arrived at our campsite, who should we find setting up camp next to us but dear friends from north central B.C. Such a blessing they were to us – encouraging us, allowing us shelter from the mosquitoes in their enclosure, even feeding us when our work at the booth prevented us from preparing food.

Thank you, John, Anna and family, for blessing our time at camp meeting. You provided us the opportunity to share with many more people the story of what AFM is doing and to clarify for them how our project will help reach the people of Southeast Asia. Thank you, God, for reserving a site for us that provided just what we needed.
