Turn Your Burdens Over to God

Tears filled my eyes as we heard the appeal for youth to come forward who felt God calling them to enter hard-to-reach foreign mission areas. I was touched by the response of these dedicated young people and amazed to see how God answers prayer.

Kyle and I were attending the Generation of Youth for Christ (GYC) conference in Houston, Texas. On Friday night, we were unable to fall asleep, so we earnestly prayed into the wee hours of the morning. One of the burdens of our heart was that a direct appeal be made for the youth to make a commitment to help reach the unreached.

As the conference continued and no appeal was made, I was tempted to think that our time of earnest prayer had been in vain. We were sitting in the final meeting drinking in another powerful sermon when the speaker began making the final appeal of the conference. He made three very specific appeals, and, praise God, the last was for mission service! I had begun to believe that our time of prayer had been wasted and that we shouldn’t have stayed up so late. This incident at GYC confirmed to us that God is delighted to answer our prayers.

God has laid upon our heart a need for more earnest prayer on behalf of the unreached as well as for our specific project. We are seeking a team of people who will petition Heaven for the unreached Buddhists in Thailand. Will you join us in earnest prayer?

“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16).
