Inspiring the Next Generation of Missionaries

In the past two years, we have visited over 40 churches, sharing our testimony of how God brought us out of pastoral ministry and set us on a new path of missions. At the end of every presentation, we also share the importance of answering God’s call to missions and how that decision can impact lives for eternity.

About a year ago, we presented at Hutchinson Seventh-day Adventist Church, next to Maplewood Academy in Hutchinson, Minnesota. As a campus church, many students were in the congregation that day. We shared our testimony and information about Japan, then appealed to the young people in the audience, some of whom I had taught in elementary school, to answer the call to become missionaries. A few weeks ago, I received the following in a card from a student at that academy:

“Last year, you and your family came and talked about going to Japan. I felt inspired by your work, and when I grow up, I want to be a missionary for a while. I am truly thankful for the work you are doing. Ten years in Japan, I can never imagine, but I truly pray that many people get touched by your ministry the way I was touched when you guys came here and talked about going to Japan. Safe travels whenever you go. With much love.”

As we continue this journey, we hope more young people will feel inspired to answer God’s call to missions. We need more workers in the field so that the gospel can reach every heart and Jesus can return.

Thank you for praying for us and supporting our ministry. If you would like to help further, we welcome you to join our monthly support team.
