Introducing Robbie and Kelli Doss

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jer. 29:11).
Robbie: A flower delivery I made to the AFM office planted the seed of mission service in my mind. I promised to pray about it, and that confirmed the call of God in my heart to serve. Going as an AFM student missionary to Albania changed the trajectory of my life. I returned to the States with a new direction. Instead of returning to Andrews University, I transferred to Southern Adventist University.

Kelli: The idea of missions started forming in my mind on a trip to Arizona. I was on a mission trip to the Navajo people of Kinlichee when I began sensing God calling me to serve Him, not only on short-term mission trips, but as a student missionary overseas and eventually as a full-time career missionary. The sense of calling stayed with me as I attended Union College. After my second year, I accepted a call to serve as an AFM student missionary for a year with Brian and Duang Wilson in Thailand. As my year of service drew to a close, the Sorensen family asked me to stay another year in Thailand and help them by teaching English in Surin Province. These two years as a student missionary solidified in my mind the truth that God was calling me to career missions. Instead of returning to Union College to continue my education major, I decided to change my major to nursing and transfer to Southern Adventist University. My first day at Southern, I met a former AFM student missionary, Robbie Doss.

Robbie: I remember thinking there was something special about this girl, Kelli Biggs, when I met her on the first day of my last year at Southern. When I discovered that she had also been a student missionary with AFM, we formed a fast friendship. A year later, we were married.

We both individually felt God calling us to missions. As a couple, we looked forward to seeing where God would lead us in service for Him. We continued talking with AFM about our interest in career missions while Kelli finished her nursing degree at Southern. We welcomed our daughter, Hope Asher, to our family in December 2007. Six months later, AFM accepted us as career missionaries to the Northern Khmer people of Thailand.

We are excited about working with Chris and Shannon Sorensen for the salvation of the Northern Khmer. We look forward to sharing this adventure with you. Please join us as sponsors and prayer partners and be part of our team to reach the Northern Khmer for Him.

Hello,

My name is Pearly Gupta.  My husband and I live in the UK with our children.  We would like our children to be involved in your projects as we teach them about God’s work in the mission field.

My children and I have looked at the many missionaries on AFM site, after a lot of prayers and search, my children choose your family and your project.  We would like to know how we can help contribute to your efforts apart from financial donation.  My husband is an Ophthalmologist in his final year of surgical training and I am a Medical Nutritionist specialising in Children with Mental Health issues.  Please let us know if it is ok for us to do this.  We would love to send you any materials needed to support your work or for your family.

We look forward to hearing from you.

God bless
Pearly Gupta
