Introducing the John Lello Memorial Facility

On November 26, 2012, AFM missionary John Lello was killed by a falling tree while supervising a land-clearing crew in Papua New Guinea.  John was a man of action, a craftsman who loved working with his hands to create products of long-lasting quality.  When the Lello family learned of AFM’s need for a maintenance building at the AFM Center, they suggested naming the building in honor of John’s sacrifice.
The John Lello Memorial Facility will be a structure where skilled mechanical, repair and engineering work will take place, reflecting John’s passion and gifts. The facility will include vehicle stalls, a workshop, a facility manager’s office and a garage. It will be constructed behind the Mission Inn.
After reviewing bids, AFM has identified a local construction company who can complete the task within a budget of $125,000. Groundbreaking will take place after funds are raised, and construction is expected to take three months.
The John Lello Memorial Facility will serve as a standing reminder to every wave of missionaries passing through the AFM Center of the depth of the sacrifice that missionaries may be called to make. Please prayerfully consider sharing a gift to help make the John Lello Memorial Facility a reality.
