Introducing the Kiwis

When we returned from our work in Southeast Asia five years ago, we left part of our hearts there. We have been excited to see how God is moving among the Great River people and are eager to join Him in what He is doing there! This time around, we are looking forward to working with a team. The Clay and Church families are already working with the Great River people, and we are hoping to join them as soon as possible.

We have been praying that God will open the way before us and prepare the hearts of the people in the place where He wants to use us. Recently we were talking with our teammates on Skype. The Clay and Church families were sharing with us some of the exciting developments taking place among the Great River people. More and more, barriers are falling as these families minister in practical ways—drilling wells, caring for the sick and teaching children. But even more amazing is the spiritual awareness that is spreading across the wider Great River community. The first baptism from this project took place just over two months ago. Praise the Lord! In the village where this new follower of Jesus grew up, a spiritual hunger is deepening. Several people have said they want to become followers of Jesus, and some are even saying they already have! Though their understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus is limited, their desire is compelling. If God opens the way, we hope to relocate to this area and disciple these eager seekers for truth.

Because of hungry hearts like these, we are praying to get back into this ripe mission field very soon. But we can’t do it without you! We are taking a huge leap of faith and are endeavoring to launch before the end of this year. In order for that to happen, Adventist Frontier Missions requires us to meet 65 percent of our launching goal and 80 percent of our monthly goal before AFM’s summer training. This seems an impossibility, but we believe in miracles. Once training is complete, we will be free to launch as soon as we have completed our fundraising.

We invite you to pray about joining our financial support team and playing a crucial role in bringing light to the Great River people.
