Jok’s early life was difficult. But while still a child, Jok went to live with his father, who was newly baptized. His father began bringing him to church, and Jok started to learn about God and to choose to follow the good paths.

In 2019, Jok and his father moved to Tanguieta for work and began attending the Tanguieta church. Jok continued to grow in his knowledge of God and was active in the Pathfinder club. Over the years, Jok could be counted on to be at Pathfinders even when others stopped going.

While he attended the evangelical private school, some of his classes were held only on the Sabbath. Nevertheless, Jok remained faithful. When his teachers went and talked to his father, his father replied that it was Jok’s decision. He received a zero in that class, but by the grace of God, he passed the school year.

Over the years, Jok chose on his own to become a vegetarian and learned how to fast. As he has become a young adult, Jok has continued to grow in faith and spiritual strength, taking a more active role in church activities. Though still a minor himself, Jok is teaching the adult Sabbath school, preaching and leading many church programs, following in the footsteps of the youth in the early years of the SDA church.
