Recently I found myself very much in need of brushing my teeth. I will spare you the details, but they needed a very good scrubbing. It sure felt good when my teeth and mouth were clean again! That got me wondering: do the people living in the mountains of Palawan have toothbrushes? Probably not. I thought of my recently dirty mouth and imagined what it would be like to live for weeks, months and years without brushing my teeth, and all the tooth decay and pain that would result.
Sonya shared this quote with me: “Human souls are hanging in the balance. They will either be subjects for the kingdom of God or slaves to the despotism of Satan. All are to have the privilege of laying hold of the hope set before them in the gospel, and how can they hear without a preacher? . . . Who will now fully consecrate themselves to become laborers together with God?” (CCh 67.2).
The spiritual plight of those unreached by the gospel is much worse than a person without a toothbrush! How can the unreached have peace apart from the Prince of Peace? How can they have hope except from the God of Hope? How can they have faith without the Word? Please pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that the Palawano people and the unreached all over the world will “have the privilege of laying hold of the hope set before them in the gospel!”
