Little Fred

Three months after Nafisatu gave birth to her son Fred (named after my husband), she left the boy with her mother so she could attend college. Due to malnourishment, the boy ended up suffering from kwashiorkor and was not able to walk in the normal timeframe.

On our return from furlough, we gave the family food for little Fred. But they were very poor, and when food was scarce, they ate the food intended for him. I made a trip to Sierra Leone and was able to find food special food for malnourished kids from the World Health Organization. Fred started eating it, and it made a wonderful difference. Recently, I learned that he has started walking. He will be two in August.

We are thankful to serve a living God. Thank you all for helping save the life of little Fred. Your gifts and prayers have given him the chance to be a normal toddler.—Isatta Coker
