Looking Back to Look Forward

“In reviewing our past history, having traveled over every step of advance to our present standing, I can say, Praise God! As I see what God has wrought, I am filled with astonishment, and with confidence in Christ as leader. We have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget the way the Lord has led us, and His teaching in our past history”

(Christian Experience and Teaching, p. 204, EG White).

We took time recently to reflect upon the many blessings the Lord has poured upon us and had to exclaim, “Our cup is overflowing!”

We marveled at how, after 13 years of development work for AFM, Arnold was ready to resign, and the Lord instead moved us into field directing over the Southeast Asia and Oceania projects. During those seven years of service, we traveled to 33 countries on five continents.

Then we found ourselves looking to resign again from AFM as the travel had taken its toll on us, and we needed to slow down. This time the Lord brought us into the position of Ambassadors at Large. We have worked primarily through Zoom conferences into Canada with some minimal travel to South Korea, Romania/Ukraine and Brahmiland.

The readjustment to a less frenzied pace and more time on American soil brought reverse culture shock. Thankfully, God continued to provide His sustaining hand as He had done throughout our many years of jetting about the globe.

Here we are again looking to resign from AFM. We have prayed much and see that the Lord is leading us to move from this position to one of service in a different capacity. Like Abraham, we know not what we will do yet; however, we trust in God to lead us.

God willing, we will open a new chapter in April 2023. Until then, we hope to share some experiences in our articles on how God has been faithful through our time at AFM.

As teammates, you have been the backbone of this ministry, and we are so thankful to each of you for loving the unreached of the world as you do. What a blessing you are.
