Have you ever considered the cost of mission service? Some of you have considered and have been overseas serving, or you have supported a missionary.
Now reverse the question: What will the cost be if I don’t send someone or go myself?
What experiences would I not have if I said no to God’s commission to reach the world with the Gospel? Would I miss out on a new believer thanking me for sharing Jesus with them and their family? Or seeing the transformation of a life formerly filled with fear and superstition, now rejoicing in the love of Christ? What if I choose to remain in my comfort zone and never truly experience total reliance upon God by sacrificially giving funds or living in a foreign land? Would my walk with the Lord be as deep if I said no to reaching the unreached?
It makes me think about Jesus. What if He had said no? What if He chose not to come and serve here? Where would we be?
For many years, God has been calling me to go. I had numerous excuses, but finally they ran out. Now Diane and I will be in training non-stop till November of this year. Then we will take a preliminary trip to find housing outside Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
With all that Jesus has done for us, how can we not say yes? How can you not say yes?
Won’t you prayerfully consider going with us by becoming a monthly donor on our team, or even contacting AFM to see where you could serve?
After all, Jesus counted the cost and decided you were worth it.
“But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8).
