When God called us to the mission field, He confirmed that appeal in two remarkably clear ways (see our first article in Adventist Frontiers, August 2005 or on our AFM web page). At the time, the thought crossed my mind that God must have a special reason for making His call to carry the gospel to the Gogodala so clear to me, so unmistakable that I should never doubt it.
Right now, there is one impediment that has loomed over us for 10 months—an old house for sale in a market overflowing with homes for sale and declining numbers of buyers. Everything else is ready for our launch. The visas are here, the funds are here and we have been properly trained. We are ready to go except for the sale of our house. God always has a reason for the timing of things, though. During this time of preparation and waiting, I have noticed how much more I rely on the promises of God. Praise His name! This is a lesson in the textbook of life to be remembered in the mission field. Our faith is strengthened as we review the ways God has led us. Now I am more thankful than ever that God made His call to us so clear.
We are also thankful for the prayers many of you have prayed for the sale of our house. Our hearts are longing to be with the Gogodala. We look forward to sharing with you the story of our launch when it happens. Pray with us that it will happen soon. Jesus said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God” (Luke 18:27)
