Moving

“Okay, girls, get your shoes on. We’re going,” I say.

Haven responds, “We’re going to Surin? Yay!” She dances around and sings a little song.

“No, Haven, we’re going to church today. We will go to Surin next month,” I reply.

Lately, every time I tell the girls to get ready to go somewhere, Haven gets excited, thinking we’re going to Surin.

It’s true! A month from now, we hope to be finishing the process of moving from our language-learning location in Chiang Mai to Surin and joining up with our partners, Chris and Shannon Sorensen. We are so excited to be finishing up the first phase of our time here in Thailand! We are eagerly anticipating this move and the chance finally to go where we feel called to be.

Robbie will finish his formal language learning at the end of this month. We praise the Lord for helping him grasp the language and learn to communicate well in it.

We praise the Lord also for all the friendships we have formed here in Chiang Mai with church members, market vendors, and even with Robbie’s barber. We praise the Lord for all the opportunities we have had to share with the people around us and to learn from them about their culture and beliefs. We are so thankful to God for being with us here in Chiang Mai.

Now, as we transition to Surin, we know the Lord will provide a home, friends and opportunities to witness for Him among the Northern Khmer people.

We can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in Surin as we become His hands and feet among the Northern Khmer. We can’t wait to help shoulder the responsibilities Chris and Shannon have been carrying. We’re ready for the next part of our adventure here in Thailand.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support as we have been language learning. Please continue to pray for us during this time of transition. We hope your prayers will go with us as we move to Surin and start our ministry there with the Sorensens. We invite you to move with us to Surin and help us reach the Northern Khmer for Christ.
